Where does an ortho tech work?
An ortho tech could work in a hospital, a clinic, a private office (especially for patients with orthopedic problems), or a home health agency.
What type of education is needed?
A certified orthopedic technologist requires a high school diploma and completion of orthopedic training, which is generally an associate's degree. To become certified you must take an exam from the National Board of Certification for Orthopedic Technologists.

How could a certified ortho tech advance?
With experience they could become an advanced certified orthopedic technologist or with additional training they could enter another specialty.
